Sensational Traditional Gospel Music Legend Speaks on Good Music.

Evangelist Alfred Marcus Kobba known for his popular traditional (Mende) gospel songs as far back as the 90s till date has said Sierra Leone has talent and gifted youths through music that can help create job employment facilities for themselves but lack the adequate character and approach. This he said while performing on stage during his show in the United States of America this September 2022 that Sierra Leone musicians should come to the terms of owning their own and selling out their culture as this will attracts tourist towards the country. If musicians can be able to sing in their local languages be it mende, limba, temne, loko, fullah, krio, kissi etc. and also try to structure their lyrics with not only singing a song for singing sake but for the audience to have a take home lesson from each and every of your song. He further to say another factor that is killing the industry is pride, ego and self-centeredness, this he consider that musicians should always see his/her fellow musician as team mate not as competitor. There should always be a room for compliment and not criticism. 

Evangelist Alfred Marcus Kobba has released several gospel albums and hit singles on the trait of social commentary and evangelism. As plans are underway for one of the biggest Gospel Concert in December 2022 scheduled to take place in Bo town and it environs. He conclude in singing a line in one of their songs title: Sierra Leone:

Sierra Leone o Sierra Leone, 

My sweet home that is flowing with milk and honey

If I go to the white man’s land

And they ask me about my home

I will always say that I love my Sierra Leone

He admonished his fellow musicians to come onboard and make Sierra Leone a better place for our generation yet unborn.
